The Milledgeville guided trolley tour includes rotating visits to the Old State Capitol, c. 1807, St. Stephens Episcopal Church, c. 1841, Lockerly Hall, c. 1839, and the Brown-Stetson-Sanford House, c. 1825. The trolley is available Monday - Friday at 10:00 am and Saturday at 2:00 pm. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-16. All tours begin at the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Old Governor's Mansion will be hosting a special exhibition: Behind Closed Doors: Underwear and "At Home" Attire. Presented by PNJW Collections from Alpharetta, this exhibit will feature original examples of Civil War era Women's, Men's, and Children's clothing and undergarments as well as casual attire of mid-nineteenth century Americans.
This exhibit will be located in "the rooms" in which the clothing would have been used in within the Executive Mansion. This is a must see event that should be appealing to all visitors! For more information, please call 478-445-4545.

The Curator's Tour is an in-depth look at the Old Governor's Mansion and focuses on the recent restoration. You will see additional areas of the Mansion that are not usually part of the regular tours. Reservations are required and due the day before each program. Tours are held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every third Tuesday of each month. Cost is $15, adults; $8, seniors; $10, adult groups, and $4, students.
"Labor Behind the Veil" tours at the Old Governor's Mansion

A historically documented tour, "Labor Behind the Veil: The History of Slaves and Free Persons at Georgia's Old Governor's Mansion 1839-1868," provides mansion visitors a glimpse of the working lives of men and women who lived and worked on the mansion grounds.
The tour researched and developed by mansion director Jim Turner, assistant curator Matt Davis and Deitrah Taylor was years in the making and included reading historic letters, ledgers and documents to piece together the workings of the mansion.
By the end of the tour, visitors should understand issues of race and sex in the Antebellum South and the governors' political views about slavery, furthering the mission of the Old Governor's Mansion Historic House Museum. "The Collections Tour" at the Old Governor's Mansion

FOCUS: The Collections Tour, hosted by the Mansion Curator, provides visitors with an opportunity to hear an in-depth discussion of the Mansion's varied material and textile collections, the process of building the collection following the recent $9.5 million dollar restoration of the structure, and culminating in the methodologies employed in locating both original and period appropriate pieces and materials for display within the museum.
The program will center on specific rooms of the structure and if you have ever been interested in learning about antiques and the tenants of historic preservation, then this is a program that you don't want to miss!
Reservations are required to participate and can be made by calling the Mansion offices at 478-445-4545. Reservations are due the day before each program.

Come out, rain or shine, for a scenic country ride through central Georgia's piedmont region. Choose an easy 8 mile ride
through historic downtown Milledgeville, the antebellum capital of Georgia; a moderate 35 or 48 mile loop through the rolling hills of Baldwin County; or challenge yourself with a hilly metric century (64 miles) through Brown's Crossing; or go all out for a 103 mile century ride through Baldwin, Wilkinson and Jones Counties! SAG and fully staffed rest stops are provided.
